More specifically, it's called McKay Used Books. It's the most awesome place EVER! If any of you know Brian, you know that he is a little OCD about the condition of his books. And HE actually finds books that he wants every time we go. It's starting to become a problem.
Here is documentation of a few (that's right, there's been others) of our trips to McKay.
Yes, we have a problem...

Natalie- I feel your pain. My books have taken over my life and I am right there with your hubby. I will admit, I am a book freak, if they edges are bent, scratched or nicked, it will not come home with me.
ReplyDeleteI support this obsession, books are the best of company and they never get old. As for the baby books, you never know when you will find a book you loved as a kid, and it might never be seen again so buying what you like when you see it is never bad plus in the long run its cheaper, you avoid spending full price :)
I'm so glad Jason doesn't know about this place. His school allows him to check out 80 books from the library at a time and keep them for 9 months...meaning we had to buy an extra book shelves just for library books. Love it.
ReplyDeletePS: I'm totally jealous of the 55 cent kids books.
Oh my goodness, when we lived in Tennesse we lived right across the street from that place and I totally understand... We got all of the extended edition Lord of the Rings there for $30 total! What a steal!
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I knew of a place to get books like that! And the How Do Dinosaurs books is adorable! We checked it out from the library and Carly loved it. The real problem is running out of bookshelves :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like nothing has changed! :) We have a small library of books (compared to yours) as well, and since we are planning on moving in May, I don't look forward to packing all of them away. We miss you!
ReplyDeleteI saw this on another blog and thought of you.

You should totally make something similar to hang by your stuffed bookshelves.
I have the same problem. Except I've been collecting since Rebecca was born and now it's out of control. The library where we used to live had a used book store with prices the same as yours, and people gave away kids books in great condition, so I bought some every week for a long time. Now I have two huge book cases of children's books. Our own library... it's time to scale back! (But we do read them lots! :)
